Mark Menke brings sector expertise and global business insights to new role
CALGARY/HOUSTON – Mark Menke, a 35-year oil and gas industry veteran, has been appointed an independent director and board member of Calgary-based technology innovator INGU. INGU’s pioneering, self-serve inline inspection solution is being used by customers on 4 continents, ranging from municipal water systems to oil and gas supermajors.
“The timing of this appointment couldn’t be better,” said John van Pol, CEO, INGU. “Mark’s international experience, industry knowledge, and exposure to growth companies in the energy sector makes him an ideal contributor to our efforts at this time. We look forward to his contribution as we pursue our international growth strategy.”
Menke is the former General Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions at Chevron, a position he held for 13 years. During that time, he was also on the advisory board of Chevron Technology Ventures—a role that afforded him unique insights into innovative start-up and growth companies in the energy sector. Mark also served as Global Business Manager for Chevron’s $1B global fuel and lubricant additives division, and held the position of Director of Chevron’s International Business Development efforts for 6 years.
“INGU’s mission is very compelling in both the oil and gas, and municipal water categories,” said Menke, who currently serves on Rice University’s Engineering Advisory Board and as an independent director with WildFire Energy LLC. “The opportunities before John and his team are significant and I look forward to contributing to their current momentum.”
