Seven companies were recognized Tuesday morning, June 13th at the Global Petroleum Show (GPS) Awards for their leadership in driving change and evolution in the energy industry through technology, corporate social responsibility and excellence.
Sarah Campbell, Conference Manager with dmg::events who organizes the three-day GPS event at Stampede Park in Calgary, said this was the third year of the awards.
“The purpose of the awards is to celebrate the industry’s achievements. We wanted to create a platform at something like the Global Petroleum Show where we could recognize everybody’s technologies, their community engagement and give them recognition on a platform where their peers can recognize them as well,” said Campbell.
Joseph Kuhach, CEO of Nsolv, who won the Innovation in Technology award last year at GPS, said in a keynote speech that the oil and gas industry is facing “many headwinds” but it pushes forward, “striving for excellence” which is “critical to the ongoing evolution” of the sector.
Ingu Solutions won the Innovations in Technologies: Process Controls award which recognizes a project, product or service specific to controls that creates a high impact disruptive innovation that will have a major impact on energy efficiency, emissions, economics, schedule or quality and practical considerations.
Nigeria LNG Limited captured the Corporate Social Responsibility award which serves to recognize the industry’s efforts in contributing to the betterment of the wider community which is directly linked to the oil and gas industry and in which the organization operates.
Acceleware won the Emerging Clean Technology category which is an award specific to non-renewable resources and is focused on innovative technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions including CO2 and methane in the fossil energy industry.
GHGSat was the winner of the Environmental Excellence award recognizing any efforts, initiatives or technological developments that have minimized or eliminated the environmental footprint of the oil and gas industry.
Reflex Marine won the Health & Safety category which acknowledges new technologies in health, safety and environment that contribute to enhancing the overall HSE record of the energy industry.
The winner of the Indigenous Engagement award was Seven Lakes Oilfield Services for an organization and local or national indigenous community that has demonstrated best efforts and success in engaging in consultation, business development opportunities or community development.
Baker Hughes captured the Innovation in Technologies: Process Equipment category which recognizes a project, product or service specific to equipment that creates high impact disruptive innovation that will have a major impact on energy efficiency, emissions, economics, schedule or quality and practical considerations.
